lazy wednesday afternoons.

holy shit, did it ever snow like a bitch out today!
(sorry for all the swears, but honestly?!? what a frick-load of snow)

wednesdays for me are pretty sweet, after having two 8 am days in a row, wednesday doesn't start until 3 pm, which allows for some pretty sweet sleep in times. not to mention that i have nothing going on on thursdays.. greatness.

all morning i sat in the living room watching court tv (my daytime guilty pleasure) and the massive amount of snow falling steadily to the ground. i love snow days. it may possibly by the best thing about being canadian, some days it just snows too much, and you can stay home and do nothing but watch crapy american court tv. i checked cp24 and the weather network probably three times hoping that school would be cancelled. but no such luck.

how i miss the highschool days, full of snow days, and daytime tv.

holy crap, its been a while

so ive made the jump from regular diet coke, to diet coke with no caffeine.

at first i thought no biggie, i can deal with less to no caffeine, because its really the aspartame that i crave. and i was right, i havnt gotten any headaches that come along with a heavy addiction to caffein, im doing great other then i feel my energy level has dropped.

in retrospect i think it was a bad idea. i mean, i guess technically im slowly cutting myself off, at school i generally grab a diet coke to help me thru the day, but my caffein filled diet coke consumption has dropped pretty heavily. for example yesterday i had NO caffein at all, granted i slept most of the day and it was fabulous.

ive been pretty exhausted lately. i think it has to do with the low light of winter, and the new gold cans, and me being so close to the end of school i can taste it, that is wiping me out.

but im going to try to be out there more often, and do more, experience more, and be more.

you know.. the finer things in life.

talk talk talk talk talk

so fairly recently my cell phone died. it was tragic. i had this bright plan to keep the phone i had for as long as i could, to save up the upgrade to get an awesome phone, at a point down the line where i could afford a wicked data plan.. so i was waiting to get an iPhone.

but like i said, it got wet and just stopped working so i had to get a new one. being so reliant on OSAP i couldn't justify a phone that required a data package that i wouldn't need to have, so  i went with the LG Shine.

have to say, this is a pretty decent phone. its nice and small, the battery lasts for a long time, there's pretty good talk time before the battery dies. ive had excellent reception with it, and im not certain how much of that has to do with the phone, and how much is to do with the signal towers. but i dont really have a bad thing to say about this particular phone. the only thing i would change would be, that the phone doesn't let you rearrange the menu items on the function page, and id like to be able to change where they are.

what i wish i had known about is this other LG phone called the LG Decoy. its a regular phone with a built in bluetooth headset. i have a bluetooth headset that i can link up with my shine, but how much more handy would it be to have the bluetooth thing built into the back of your phone, and it charges as your phone charges. it just seems so handy. i dont think its a phone offered through rogers, and if it is, i think id be upset.

but what phone i really really want these days it the blackberry bold. holy geeze am i in love with this phone. i cannot wait for the day that a business i work for buys and pays for me to have one. ... someday.

i gots money in the bank, shorty what ya drank?

holy cow! finally!!! my loans are in and i am once again in the green not the red. well i guess if you want to get all technical im still very much in the red.. but it feels like im in the green.. and thats what counts.

today i was on the bus coming home, and this lady started asking this man sitting next to me questions about his turban. im not sure if im weirded out by the conversation i over heard or if talking to strangers is something i want to embrace. alaina talks to strangers and offers her two cents here and there.

maybe that will be my resolution. talk to strangers more, no more stranger danger.

"good luck at life"

just like every other previous year, the roommates and i were not able to celebrate christmas on or before christmas, so it had to wait.. not as long as last year (i think we celebrated/opened presents in like february.. or something outrageous like that) but it was still a january event. nothing finer then getting more presents on january 5th. the thing about christmas or any other holiday when people try to get home to their families, especially if they are in school, is that the people you actually live with get neglected. for instance i left toronto on december 12, and didnt come back until january 5th. :|

back to christmas presents, i think we all put a lot awesome thought into the gifts this year. alaina got a custom necklace that is 'fabulous', and the board game version of wheel of fortune (clearly we're obsessed), sabrina got some eyebrow helper (she's slightly eyebrow challenged) and a gift certificate for a mani and pedi (i think both at least), and i got a grinder, and ... THE GAME OF LIFE!

obviously we played it in a family game kinda way the other night. the game of life is my favorite game of all time. the results of the game were that dan was an extremely high paid doctor who married a lady (who wasn't sabrina..) had no kids, and retired with the ridiculous amount of over 4 million dollars. sabrina married, was a high paid lawyer (pretty sure each pay day she was wracking in $130,000) and had one kid. alaina started out as a mechanic, got married, had a girl, then a boy, then twin boys, (thats right.. 4 kids) went to college became an accountant, lost that job, became an entertainer then retired. and i (who came in last) went to college, became an accountant, got married, had a girl, lost my job, became an entertainer, went to college again... and became a computer programer.

i was clearly too involved in the game, so when jason made his nightly call, i had to let him go, and the text message i received from him read: "i think im going to go to bed now, ill call you tomorrow when im home from work. i love you. good luck at life"

by the time i had read the text message, we were long done the game, and text messages are not the best conveyer of tone.. 'good luck at life' just didnt sound right. luckily his heart is in the right place. Y

the latest fashion..

hi bloggies.
sorry i have been neglecting my blog.
this will stop as of now.

so today i was going downstairs to get some fresh air (actually i was really craving an "a submarine") and the elevator doors flew open, and there was two people crammed in there with all their dirty laundry going down to the depths of B1 to do some laundry.. they both had on sandals... and socks. you had better believe i was chuckling to myself.. i squished in there and we were off.. plummeting to the ground, when we stopped again a few floors down.. another man crammed in there with his laundry bag, and guess what he had on his feet?? socks  and sandals..

apparently the rad thing to do at 565 sherbourne is to do your laundry while sporting the awesome combo of socks and sandals. yikes.
